The main style with these watercolours is using a very loose approach with water and paint. It dries very quickly and you cannot retouch, unlike oils and acrylics, to change anything so it is best to let flow and blend the colours. It creates fluidity and spontaneity, allowing the water and pigment to move freely on the paper, often creating soft, blended edges and washes. It captures the essence of the subject rather than emphasis on detail.
